Improv (short for improvisation) is a popular form of theatre in which the players spontaneously create stories, characters, and scenes. Through fun games and exercises, students will learn the essential improv skills of listening, reacting, collaborating with others, and trusting oneself. Over the course of seven weeks, students will learn how to release their natural creativity and create spontaneous stories both verbally and physically. This class will culminate in an entertaining demonstration for family and friends.

If you are new to this medium, or are an experienced painter, you will love all the information this course provides. Always taking composition and design into consideration you will be able to hone your skills while exploring new techniques, tools and materials. This ALL LEVEL sculpting class will focus on shapes, textures, and colors that make up the world around us and how to interpret them through clay. We will use the basics of handbuilding (coil, pinch, and slab techniques) to explore and expand your observational creativity. Strategies and techniques for completion, enhancing your creations through carving, surface treatments and techniques will be presented. This class is not project based. Students are encouraged to choose the type of sculpture or functional work would like to create. *Included in the price of your class is a 25lb bag of clay. Are you wanting to work on drawing skills in graphite or colored pencil? Or would you rather work in scratchboard, pastel or watercolor? Learn something new or brush up on your skills. Portrait, still life or nature whatever interests you. This class is for all levels of experience where you work on a project at your own speed and have fun! A project can be given to you or choose your own to work on in the medium you prefer. Reference material will be supplied if you don’t have your own. This class will meet for 6 weeks and is priced accordingly.
- Fall) Share Your Story
First person storytelling shows are all the rage on stages and podcasts across the country. In this class, you will learn how to take true events from your own life and weave them into engaging performances. We will work on public speaking skills, presentation, story structure, different narrative approaches, and creating your own unique style. Each week, students will be given a new assignment for how to structure a story. Students choose their own subject matter for their personal stories. This class culminates in a graduation performance, where each student will share a 3-7 minute personal story. Class occupancy: Min 4 / Max 8

Time to get runway-ready with this camp all about fashion! Campers will draw a fashion line, learn some basic hand sewing skills, and make fashionable accessories to create their own look! Registration closes Friday, July 10th at noon (12PM).
- Fall) Abstract Painting in Acrylics
This course will have guided step-by-step demonstrations each week consisting of paint techniques with acrylics and acrylic mediums on canvas. We will learn texturing, sponging, stippling, glazing, dry-brush, palette knife, dripping, blending & other techniques. We will learn how to prepare surfaces & build up the paint surface with layers. We will learn how to select, blend & mix colors to create pure abstracts, imaginary scenes, and natural forms. You will learn how to add depth with layers with texture and color & create a balanced abstract composition. SUPPLY LIST: The instructor will bring examples of all materials the first day of class. You can want to wait to see the supplies before purchasing them. If you already purchased acrylic paints, bring what you have & a couple of stretched canvases or canvas boards. -Brushes: An assortment of soft sythetic brushes from flats, rounds, and filberts in a range of sizes from small to large, one 2”soft, flat “gesso” brush. -Primed & stretched canvases or canvas boards. Suggested: 11x14, 12x16, 16x20. (Advanced painters can bring larger canvases). -Palette: disposable palettes such as foam plates or paper palettes -Palette knife: at least one flexible pointed chisel-shaped metal knife -1 lg carry-all for wet paintings and a tool box for your supplies -1 sm jar of Light Modeling Paste (see example in class) -1 sm jar of Gloss Gel Medium (see example in class) -1 sm bottle of Acrylic Matte Medium (see example in class) - I container for water (such as a larger yogurt container) -1 roll of paper towels - disposable gloves (optional) Paint: names of paints are all different; here is a recommended list with comparative names for acrylic paints. Are you curious about oil painting and unsure of where to begin? Discover the magic of this classic artist medium without the extensive time and materials commitment. Check out this 4 week intro to oil painting course. Working with a guided, step by step approach, we will create two painting studies, touching on the basics of oil painting and the required materials, color mixing, handling the brush, and more. This class is an excellent stepping stone to an 8 week class. $10 supply fee paid to directly to instructor during first class. Art bites intro classes can be taken in either order (1 first or 2 first or vice versa). Each intro class has the same level of painting, just different projects. Intro to oil painting 2 should only be taken once as projects do not change. Meets Tuesdays 12p-1:30p this September.
